Ball and fayre raise over £25,000!

Our Great Gatsby RoaringTwenties Ball and Christmas Fayre held on back to back days raised over £25,000 between them!

Charleston dancers and mock police raids took ball guests back in time, enjoying performances by the Northern Jazz Orchestra and the Dance Crazy Theatre.

Guests in Twenties-style dapper tuxedos and flapper frocks arrived to a champagne reception, and had to knock on the door to be let into the ball, in keeping with the underground activities of the prohibition era.

Raffle prizes including a stay at London’s Ritz hotel and a vintage bottle of brandy were snapped up by attendees, as well as one-off signed auction memorabilia. The amount raised on the night was £21.375.

Supporters also came in their droves to our Christmas Fayre held the next day, helping to raise over £4,300!

Many children got the opportunity to meet Father Christmas and received a gift from the man himself . Stalls offering, jewellery, gifts, teddies, cakes, toys, books, christmas cards and games like guess the weight of the cake and name the teddy were bustling with shoppers looking to stock up on treats and presents while helping to keep the hospice open for the patients and families who need it.

The total amount raised stands at £4,360.92.
