East Lancashire Hospice

Bank holiday fun!

There's no reason to be bored this bank holiday weekend - we've got some super events to entertain the whole family!

For the Blackburn Rovers fans heading to tonight's game, you can park up with us at Darwen Vale School. All proceeds go towards patient care and you'll be waved in by one of our gratfeul staff and volunteer team at the school!

A night of live music by various artists including Mike Hadfield is taking place this Sunday. The night kicks off at 7.30pm at Grants Bar,1 Manchester Rd, Accrington.
The music will be a mixture of acoustic music/vocals plus to vocals to popular backing tracks. Songs will be mainly popular music from the last 60 years for all ages to enjoy.
Mike said: "My reason for supporting the hospice is that my grandad spent his final days there in1987. Since then my mother, Pat Hadfield, always supported the hospice. As a result I donate through my wages with Hyndburn Borough Council. My mother passed away last October. I wanted to do the Great North Run in my 40th year (I’ll turn 41 the week after the run on 22/09/15) so the night is to help me raise funds for the run for one of my Mother’s favourite charities."

Monday sees the annual World Gravy Wrestling Championships take place at the Rose n Bowl, Stacksteads. Competitors in fancy dress do battle in the brown stuff to become king and queen of the sauce. And if that isn't quite enough fun for you, someone will win a cool £1,000 as our summer raffle will be drawn at the competition!

We hope to see you supporting the hospice at one of our events. Have a briliant bank holiday!
