Flipping big tyres and a Range Rover are among the challenges faced by Strongmen in Darwen this weekend.
The 3rd annual outdoor Strongman competition in aid of East Lancashire Hospice returns to Darwen Town Centre on Saturday.
Competitors will travel from all over the country to compete in 5 different challenges set by the organisers, Mill Gym. The day will also feature fun for all the family with a tombola, children’s slide, summer raffle and music.
Everyone is welcome to watch the feats of strength and donations will be collected from spectators for the hospice.
The youngest competitor is Jordan Hyatt who is just 16 years old. He was Star of the Night at the powerlifting event held in October and is one to watch in the outdoor competition. The day will be compered by PC Roadshows who will provide commentary and music throughout the challenges.
The challenges will include a big tyre flip and car pulls and deadlifts including a Range Rover which will be moved with only the upper body.
The outdoor events combined with the nights of power, also organised by Lower Darwen gym have raised thousands of pounds for the hospice, which cares for patients with life-limiting illnesses.
The fun starts at 10am until 3.30pm in Darwen Market Square. For more information contact Hana at Mill Gym on 01254 671827.
