East Lancashire Hospice

Corporate Challenge 2018!

East Lancashire Hospice is seeking companies to go head-to-head in this year’s Corporate Challenge and prove they have what it takes to make a difference to their community.

The search is on for businesses from Blackburn, Darwen, Hyndburn or the Ribble Valley who can prove their team spirit by raising valuable funds for East Lancashire Hospice.

Each participating company will be given £50 - thanks to Organic Insurance, who will once again be the headline sponsor of the challenge.

Organic Insurance, based in the Cathedral Quarter in Blackburn, is owned by Chris Ridehalgh, Chris Knight and Duncan Bennett and is delighted to be supporting the hospice’s second Corporate Challenge.

The challenge is for businesses to turn £50 into as much as they can within a six-month period – running April 1st until September 30th. All sponsor money raised will help to provide care for local people who are coping with a life-limiting illness at a time when they need it most.

Fundraising suggestions include dress down days, bake sales, raffles, gala evenings or even bag packing. You can also enter colleagues into one of the hospice’s organised events such as the Ribble Valley Pub Walk and Bubble Rush.

What’s in it for them? Each of the companies who sign up will have a blog written about them and receive ongoing publicity via the hospice’s Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn accounts, website, and press coverage. They will also be invited to a launch breakfast event, and the totals will be revealed on a leaderboard each month.

Chris Ridehalgh, from Organic Insurance, said: "I was amazed at how much effort went into the challenge last year and how much money was raised by the businesses who took part.

“We’re in the insurance business and a lot of what we do is about helping people prepare and cope financially with difficult situations. We can’t do the caring part, but East Lancashire Hospice can.

"Most people know someone who has had to use the hospice, or may need to access the hospice in their lifetime, and the money raised from this challenge will help to ensure it's there to help families who need it.

“It's a charity we feel we can really make a difference with. It is an honour to be able to support the Corporate Challenge for a second consecutive year."

An awards event will be held in October where the winners from various categories will be announced.
