On Sunday those in the inpatient unit and their families received Easter treats from some special visitors. A group of bikers travelled to the hospice armed with Easter eggs to distribute them as part of their usual Sunday road trip. Nurses were also given the opportunity to have a look at the bikes and even got to try them out for the press cameras! A huge thank you to all the bikers who came to the hospice to brighten our patients' day.
We interrupted Friday morning's activities in Creative and Support Therapies to play the Easter bunny and distribute easter eggs which were kindly donated to patients by Express Gifts. Some of the members were baking, some were painting ceramic pieces to make windchimes and some were sanding down woodwork to give the pieces a new lease of life. But they didn't mind the distraction as they look pretty happy with the eggs. Thank you Express Gifts!
And Asheligh Primary School in Darwen have also been part of our Easter giving when they collected over 100 creme eggs. The donations were placed into 150 knitted chicks handmade by volunteers Anita Knagg and sold on our reception on Park Lee Road, rasiing over £150 towards patients care. A very big thank you to Anita and all the pupils and teachers at Ashleigh School for their eggs-traordinary kindness!
