Two hundred people gathered at Accrington Crematorium chapel for a Memorial Service to remember their loved ones, raising over £1,100.
Members of the Council’s Cemetery and Crematorium team organised the Christmas Memorial Service at Accrington Crematorium chapel. This special event was attended by families affected by the loss of a loved one this year to reflect and remember their life.
There were readings and carols and the chance to write a personal message for loved ones to display on a Christmas tree there, with the opportunity to make a donation to East Lancashire Hospice, raising £1136.
The Mayor, Cllr Munsif Dad, said; “Nearly two hundred people came to the Christmas Memorial Service, which gave families the chance to reflect and remember their loved one at this poignant time of year. Thank you to the Cemetery and Crematorium team for organising the event and to all the local funeral directors and families who attended and gave so generously, donating over £1136 for East Lancashire Hospice."
Kimberley Hall, Fundraiser at East Lancashire Hospice said; “We would like to thank the Council’s Cemetery and Crematorium team and to all who donated to East Lancashire Hospice. The money raised will help us to continue to care for our patients at a time when it is needed. We could not do this without the support of our community and on behalf of our patients, volunteers, staff and trustees thank you for your support.”
