East Lancashire Hospice

Legacy campaign hits the road!

Patients and staff have hit the road to promote our legacy campaign – with the help of a red vintage double decker bus.

Watch it setting off from the hospice this morning packed with balloons, patients, staff and information about legacy gifts

The Legacy of Love Campaign which launched on Monday (28th Sept) encourages individuals to think about the hospice when making their will and asks them to consider leaving a legacy gift which will benefit patients and their families.

The bus will begin its journey at the hospice at 11am tomorrow where staff and the three patients who star in the campaign will board before heading to Asda Blackburn to hand out leaflets about legacies and Wills. They will then make their journey to Darwen Market to meet people outside the market.

Fatima Musa and Rhianna Bateson from Roebucks Solicitors will be there to answer any questions about legacies and Wills.

Beth Shutt, Head of Marketing said the patients and staff are very excited to be getting out into the community to increase awareness of the hospice and what it needs to continue. She said: “Most people have heard of the hospice but may not know exactly what happens here, or that we rely on donations to keep going. If we can show people, through personal stories from patients just how much the hospice has helped them, they could choose to leave a legacy gift in their Will which will have a direct impact on our patients in the future.”

We are running a free drop-in event at the Park Lee Road site on Thursday October 15 from 10-3 which is open to everyone. Representatives from Roebucks Solicitors will be present to give individuals the chance to ask anything about Wills and legacies.
