Post Title:  Maintenance/­Garden Worker

Accountable to: Head of Facilities

Type of Contract: Development and Support Services Manager

Hours: Temporary for 6 months

Salary WTE: £15829.00     Pro rata: £8442.00


Closing date:  22 December 2017


This post involves regular, direct unsupervised access to vulnerable adults and therefore is exempt from the rehabilitation of offenders Act 1974.

East Lancashire Hospice provides a special way of caring to people with life limiting illness and their families. We pride ourselves on the facilities we provide and we aim to maintain them to the highest standard.
We aim to provide a safe, warm welcoming environment for all our service users, their families, staff and volunteers.


We are looking for:
An experienced, proactive, skilled maintenance / garden worker to join us at the hospice.
They will be responsible for the upkeep of the hospice buildings and grounds by carrying out planned and reactive maintenance. Working with the Head of Facilities in developing and supporting a team of volunteers to deliver high quality of maintenance.
The ideal candidate will have a wide knowledge of DIY, the relevant experience and evidence of working to a high standard in a maintenance setting.
