East Lancashire Hospice

Meet The Lottery Team

The Lottery supporters of East Lancashire Hospice have been instrumental in helping us raise the millions of pounds needed every year to maintain our care services to local people from Blackburn, Darwen, Hyndburn and the Ribble Valley. We started the East Lancashire Hospice Lottery in 2003. It has become a valuable income stream for us as it means that we have a reliable, consistent source of revenue throughout the year. Since it started our supporters of our Hospice Lottery have helped raise over £1.7 million, a staggering amount!. Thank you to all our members, past and present. We could not have done it without you.

Promotion and day to day running of the lottery is done by Gill Wilkinson and Garry Pearson. Every Friday morning is draw time and you'll often see a guest of honour being hauled into the lottery office to start the running of the weekly draw. Gill says the best job is ringing the winners to let them know the great news and make their day. So if you get a call or message from Gill on a Friday morning the chances are it is good news!

The team are always looking at news ways to promote the lottery and the latest is the launch of lottery gift subscriptions. You can now buy someone an entry into the lottery for however many weeks you want. What a great and unusual gift and just imagine if your gift won them one of the weekly cash prizes. Pat yourself on the back - not only would you have you bought someone a lovely present, your gift carries on giving with the income it has given the Hospice.

We hear there are a couple more new lottery developments in the pipeline during the next few months but Garry and Gill are keeping them a secret...watch this space!

You can call Gill or Garry on 01254 733416 if you want to join the lottery or have further questions.

Thank you.
