Nursing Team Leader – Inpatient Unit

Job Title:                      Nursing Team Leader – Inpatient Unit

Responsible to:            Clinical Lead – Inpatient Unit

Hours:                          37.5 hours (worked on a rota basis inclusive of nights, days, evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays)

Contract type:            Permanent subject to 6 month probationary period

Salary WTE:               £38,625 (inclusive of unsocial hours)

Closing Date:               12 midday Thursday 2 May 2019

Job summary:    

We have an excellent opportunity on our 10 bedded Inpatient Unit for an experienced registered nurse, with the ability to lead and inspire a team of nurses, health care assistants and volunteers, to join our team.  You will have excellent care planning/­clinical nursing skills and preferably hold a post-registration qualification in palliative care or a related field.

You will be:

  • Professional, proactive and driven to role model high quality and excellent standards of care whilst promoting choice, independence and self-care
  • A strong leader, able to motivate, develop and support individuals and the team to meet patient needs, professional and organisational objectives
  • An excellent communicator able to hold difficult conversations with patients and their families using advanced communication skills
  • Committed to working within a multi-professional environment to deliver high quality palliative and end of life care
  • Caring, compassionate and able to work collaboratively within the ethos and values of the hospice
