What is the nature of your business and the area you cover?

We are a retail complex based in Oswaldtwistle, Lancashire. A home and lifestyle themed outlet covering everything for the home, plus fashion, footware and gifts. We have 4 restaurants and a garden centre in store too.  We also have a business and conference centre where we offer managed office space and host conferences from small meetings to large events up to 120 delegates.

Why are you taking part in this year’s East Lancashire Hospice Corporate Challenge?

We are strong supporters of the hospice and they have been our Charity of the Year for several years due to the amazing work they do in the community and in the hospice.  Last year I lost my lovely Mum to cancer on Mothers Day.

She regularly used the services on offer during her cancer journey; from the outpatient therapies to staying at the hospice for her end of life care. It is difficult to articulate the work the team did to make my Mum as comfortable as possible, not just my Mum but for my family as well.  I feel a duty to continue to help the hospice for as long as I am able to .  

What does you company have planned for the four month challenge? 

Following on from last year – we sold goods which would contribute towards the total; raffles, bake offs, sponsored events, team building exercises and also donations from customers instore.

Customers are always really keen to support and donate when they know its for the East Lancashire Hospice.
