East Lancashire Hospice

Pub collection hits the right note

The Swan With Two Necks in Pendleton, near Clitheroe, have raised an incredible £350 from their annual “Carols in the Pub” event.

The pub, voted pub of the year last year by CAMRA - the Campaign for Real Ale, the consumer's champion, kindly chose East Lancashire Hospice as their chosen charity.

On the night, held in December, around 100 villagers and regulars from further afield got together for a sing song and raised a glass or two. This was their most successful Carols in the Pub event so far.

We would like to thank the landlord and landlady, Steve and Christine Dilworth, who have run the pub for over 20 years.

Jennifer Quinn said: 'We were delighted that Steve and Christine chose to support the hospice with their Carols in the Pub and very grateful to all the regulars who so generously donated.

"The money raised goes directly to caring for patients and their families in the Ribble Valley, Hyndburn, Blackburn and Darwen.”

Thank you for all your support.
