A Clayton-le-Moors company is on the tee again for the second year running in support of the East Lancashire Hospice’s 2018 Corporate Challenge
Metal fabrication experts R. Briggs Ltd raised around £1,400 in the inaugural Corporate Challenge and its main fundraising event was a golf day which it is going to repeat at Rishton Golf Club during the summer.
Operations manager Declan Campbell, who is leading the R. Briggs’ corporate challenge, said: “It was a great day for staff, customers and connections alike and we will definitely be doing the same again this year. Our managing director Dave Seal is a member at Rishton so that’s where we will be playing.”
It was Dave’s daughter Charlotte, who has a friend who works at the hospice, who came up with the idea of R.Briggs taking part. Dave bought the company, which is situated in Wellington Street, Clayton-le-Moors, from Richard Briggs about six years ago. It boasts between 40 and 50 staff.
Originally a sheetmetal fabricator R.Briggs, which was founded in 1982, now specialises in the bespoke metal fabrication, commercial kitchens, extraction canopy and air conditioning and ventilation industries.
Declan said: “We pride ourselves on our personal service from start to finish, all our workforce are fully skilled and trained in every aspect of the industry.”
The company has an impressive list of sites they have worked on including: Lancashire County Council, Stonegate Pub Company, Yates, Sizzling Pubs, Browns Bar and Brasserie, Crown Carveries, Vintage Inns, Mitchell and Butlers, Toby Carvery, O’Neills and Harvester Salad and Grill.
Although the company hasn’t planned its Corporate Challenge strategy yet Declan said it hopes to better last year’s total. Apart from the golf day there will be several in-house fundraisers and individual efforts from various members of staff.
