A company that is laying firm foundations with the hope of winning this year’s East Lancashire Hospice’s Corporate Challenge is Rob Stinson Building Contractors.
And company owner Rob is calling not only on his staff to help fundraise but also his girlfriend Catherine Burns who is planning to attract sponsorship in a Clayton Harriers 5k charity race. And Catherine may also join in the hospice’s bubble rush at Pleckgate School on Sunday, May 6.
Rob, whose business is based in Clayton-le-Moors, is going back into training himself with the hope of running a sponsored race. He’s not a newcomer to such an event as he took part in the Destination Florida road race in Manchester which raised money for children with life-threatening illnesses.
He’s also going to call on his builder pals to help swell the total with the intention of raising a target of £2,000.
Rob said: “I’ve only just returned from holiday so it’s now head-scratching time to decide exactly what we are going to do to raise the cash.”He joined the corporate challenge after attending a regular BNI meeting in Accrington and is eager to learn about the services the hospice offers.
“While I’ve never been there myself I have heard about some of the wonderful services the hospice offers and that it’s not a place of doom and gloom,” said Rob. “I just hope that the corporate challenge raises enough money to make a difference.”
Rob has been running a building contractor service in East Lancashire since 2008 working on large and small projects.
