A Ribble Valley jewellers is offering a free service to clean rings, in exchange for a donation to East Lancashire Hospice. It is just one way Rue5 hope to raise money in the hospice’s 2018 Corporate Challenge.
Owner Linzi Sharkey opened the jeweller’s shop at 5 King Street, Clitheroe, in June 2016 and also operates through the Rue 5 website selling high class jewellery and watches online.
She said: “We have done bits and bobs for the hospice in previous years so thought this year we would pull it all together under the Corporate Challenge.”
Linzi will be helped in the fundraising by her staff members Paige Whitham and Gaby Foggarty-Bradshaw. They are open to suggestions from local people this year to help raise as much money as possible for the hospice. Apart from the free jewellery cleaning they also hope to hold coffee and cake mornings in the shop and are discussing whether to take part in the Race For Life.
So far Linzi has never visited the hospice but she plans to take up an invitation to be shown around in the near future.
Linzi is not new to taking up a challenge. When she opened Rue 5 she was new to the jewellery trade but received a lot of help and guidance from her friend and business partner Matthew Nettleton who runs Nettleton’s Jewellers in Clitheroe.
The two have designed Rue 5 with the help of bespoke cabinet makers to house their new contemporary brands. The aim is to provide a bright and inviting look with a friendly team to greet their customers.
Through the Rue5 website the business has showcased a selection of jewellery and watches as well as the services they offer.
Jewellery brands Rue5 specialises in are Thomas Sabo, Daisy, Diamonfire, Seiko, Bering, Uno De 50, Radley London, Kit Heath, Ice Watches, Orla Kiely, Les Georgettes, Melt Candles, Dollie Jewellery, Paul Hewitt, Lola Rose, Cluse Watches and Lucy Quartermaine.
