East Lancs Hospice
East Lancashire Hospice is a registered charity, founded in 1984. We support and care for patients with a life limiting illness, their families and others close to them. We provide this in a number of ways; at the hospice and in people’s own homes across our community of Blackburn, Darwen, Hyndburn and the Ribble Valley.
With approximately 120 employees and over 250 volunteers, our people are our biggest asset whom we value tremendously. Marketing and Communications Assistant
Following the growth of the Income Generation Department and a restructure, we are recruiting for a Marketing and Communications Assistant to join our fast moving team.
The Marketing and Communications Assistant will join our fast paced Fundraising and Marketing Team and will support the Fundraising and Marketing Lead to raise the hospice profile whilst generating valuable income within the communities of Blackburn, Darwen, Hyndburn and the Ribble Valley.
This will be achieved through the promotion of Patient Services, the hospice Retail Portfolio, Café Retreat, Fundraising Events as well as hospice Marketing Campaigns and Appeals. Promotion will be undertaken using both online communications including but not limited to the hospice website, social media and e-marketing as well as offline communications including but not limited to the generation of patient stories and press releases for the purpose of securing media coverage.
The Successful Candidate
The successful candidate will need to be highly motivated, demonstrate initiative and be able to work both individually and as a team. They should be a good communicator, competent copywriter and have experience of Microsoft Office 365 as well as mainstream digital platforms. A full clean driving license, with access to their own vehicle is also required.
What we offer
This post is 22.5hrs flexible over 7 days, as representation at events outside of normal office hours on behalf of the hospice would be required. The salary for this role on a pro rata basis is £12,341.40 and benefits include; being part of a strong working team, full support from experienced managers and the opportunity for ongoing training.
