East Lancashire Hospice is a registered charity, founded in 1984. We support and care for patients with a life limiting illness, their families and others close to them. We provide this in a number of ways; at the hospice and in people’s own homes across our community of Blackburn, Darwen, Hyndburn and the Ribble Valley.

Hospice CNS  (Associate)

We have an exciting opportunity for a forward thinking, enthusiastic and motivated registered nurse with experience in palliative care to join our friendly and supportive hospice community team as an Associate CNS.

The team provides a 7 day service including weekends and bank holidays worked on a rota basis.  You will work as an accountable and autonomous practitioner alongside the multi-professional team managing a caseload of patients in the community.

The Successful Candidate

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in Specialist Palliative Care, though experience in the assessment, care and management of palliative care patients in a non-palliative care specialist setting is also advantageous.

You will demonstrate excellent standards of assessment, care planning and evaluation of interventions to ensure the needs and choices of people accessing hospice community services are met.

With well-developed critical thinking and advanced communication skills you will hold post registration qualifications in palliative care and/or a clinical field relevant to the role and be a Nurse Independent Prescriber or be willing to undertake this in post.
