For over 28 years East Lancashire Hospice has continuously provided a special way of caring to people suffering from life limiting illnesses throughout Blackburn, Darwen, Hyndburn and the Ribble Valley.
A life limiting or life threatening illness can be very hard to come to terms with and that is why we are here. We provide specialist care, supportive care and end of life care for people and their families both at the hospice and at home. Here everyone is special, whether patients come to us or we go to them.

Our Philosophy of Care
East Lancashire Hospice seeks to ensure that all patients with palliative care needs have access to a range of services when they need them for as long as they are needed. We respect the intrinsic value of life of each person and the privacy and dignity of each person.
We respect and respond to the culture and faith and beliefs of each person by working in partnership with patients and families to meet their physical, emotional, spiritual and social needs. Help patients make informed choice. Promote rehabilitation and independence through interdisciplinary work.
We create a climate that empowers and supports staff and volunteers and work in partnership with colleagues/services/organisations external to the Hospice to enhance its service.
