Wellbeing and Benefits
At East Lancashire Hospice, our people are at the heart of everything we do. We know that caring for others is meaningful and rewarding, but it can also be demanding. That’s why we’re committed to supporting the wellbeing of our staff and volunteers, every step of the way.
We work together to create a supportive, welcoming environment where people feel valued, listened to and cared for – just as they care for others.
Supporting you as a whole person
Our wellbeing support is built around the four pillars of wellbeing: mental, physical, social and financial. From your first day with us, you’ll have access to a range of benefits and support designed to help you balance work and everyday life.
This includes a comprehensive wellbeing package, opportunities for personal and professional development, and practical benefits that support you both inside and outside of work.
Dedicated wellbeing support
We’re proud to have a Head of People and Culture, who is also a qualified Counsellor, offering confidential support to both staff and volunteers. This means there’s always someone experienced, understanding and approachable to talk to when things feel challenging.
Alongside this, we have trained Mental Health First Aiders, Health and Wellbeing Champions, access to Benenden Health – a private healthcare provider, and clear routes for support whenever it’s needed.
Wellbeing Week
Twice a year, we hold a dedicated Wellbeing Week for staff and volunteers. These weeks are a chance to pause, connect and focus on wellbeing together, with a range of activities, sessions and opportunities to take time for yourself and each other.
It’s just one of the ways we encourage a positive, open culture where wellbeing is talked about and prioritised.
More than benefits
Alongside wellbeing support, we offer a range of employee benefits, including competitive pay, annual leave, pension contributions, free healthcare support, flexible approaches to work, and access to financial and practical advice.
Whether you’re joining us as a member of staff or giving your time as a volunteer, you’ll be supported by a team that genuinely cares.
Because when our people feel supported, they can continue to make a difference for our patients, and their friends and family, across our community.
