Work & Learning placements

The hospice is often asked to provide work or learning experience placements to individuals or groups. We try to support these requests within our limited capacity to ensure students have a valuable experience

We offer supported internships to students with SEND however all placements are full until September 2020

We offer future doctors program for those aspiring to a career in medicine. All places are full until October 2020

We provide learning placements to student nurses via the University of Central Lancashire and University of Bolton. We do not have the capacity to support student nurses studying at other universities.

We are able to offer a few bespoke work / learning experience placements, these are for a minimum of 3 months, unfortunately shorter placements cannot be accommodated.

Individuals requiring a work or learning placement  should provide the following information:

  • Where they are studying/ working
  • What course they are studying for
  • The learning objectives of the placement
  • The length of the placement ( minimum 3 months)
  • The days and time they will be available to attend the Hospice

These requests should be sent by email to Denise Williams, Quality and Compliance Lead, denise.williams@eastlancshospice.org.uk.

All requests will be considered by the Service Lead and a response will be provided by email.

Education sessions on our services to groups of students by arrangement. A typical session would be up to 3 hours long and include: a tour of the hospice, an overview of the services we provide, volunteering opportunities, fundraising initiatives and a question and answer session.
