PM+M

PM+M are an independent, leading firm of accountants, financial planners and business advisers based in Blackburn. After supporting East Lancashire Hospice for the last 12 years, they have decided to become a Bronze Ambassador.

PM+M has launched a Positive Impact Initiative, which provides local charities with donations, sponsorship and volunteering as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility Strategy. As a predominantly Blackburn-based business, PM+M felt it was important to support East Lancashire Hospice.

“PM+M contacted our team and was taken on a tour of the Hospice. They were surprised by the variety of services East Lancashire Hospice provides beyond the Inpatient Unit and wanted to share the message of what the Hospice can offer to their employees and wider business network.” explained Marisa, Corporate Fundraiser at East Lancashire Hospice.

When asked how the two organisations' values align, Julie Walsh, Tax Manager at PM+M replied:

“One of our PM+M values is doing the right thing, and it goes without saying that the Hospice always strives to do the right thing. It does the right thing by the community, the people who work and volunteer here and most importantly, for the people using the services here. Our values are very much in alignment with what East Lancashire Hospice represents.”

Speaking about their personal and professional experience with East Lancashire Hospice, Julie Walsh, Tax Manager at PM+M shared;

“My close friend Kris, her daughter Kim, was admitted to the Hospice for end-of-life care. When she came to the Hospice, she was given the care and pain management she needed. I know that Kristine will be forever grateful for the care and love that the staff and volunteers here at East Lancashire Hospice provided her. It was heart-warming, and I feel privileged to have witnessed it - the Hospice is invaluable.”

When asked why supporting Hospice care in the community is so important, Lisa Colbert, Manager at PM+M replied;

“It’s becoming more common for younger people to use the Hospice facilities. As a firm, we employ over 180 people, from 16 years upwards, so it’s apparent that at some point our employees may need to access this essential service.”

PM+M_1PM+M want to use their large social network presence to share awareness of the Hospice with more businesses and individuals, informing more people of what the Hospice provides for the local community.

PM+M encourage other local businesses to consider a partnership with East Lancashire Hospice, whether it’s through a monetary donation or volunteering, all will be gratefully received.

Julie Walsh, Tax Manager at PM+M shared, “East Lancashire Hospice needs support. Hospices only receive 25% of their funding from the government, relying on fundraising and the support of the local community to raise the remaining 75%. So, whether you donate or volunteer, it will all make a difference.”
