East Lancashire Hospice is a registered charity, founded in 1984. We support and care for patients with a life limiting illness, their families and others close to them. We provide this in a number of ways; at the hospice and in people’s own homes across our community of Blackburn, Darwen, Hyndburn and the Ribble Valley.
With approximately 120 employees and over 250 volunteers, our people are our biggest asset whom we value tremendously. Our services to the local community would not be possible without our motivated and caring workforce who always strive to deliver excellence in all that they do. Health Care Assistant
An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Health Care Assistant to join our multidisciplinary team. With substantial experience of working within a caring role, you will work as part of the hospice team to support patients experiencing life changing illness or end of life care needs with understanding, sensitivity and well developed communication skills and you may be required to work across clinical departments to meet patient need and support your own development.
The Successful Candidate
You will have the commitment and ability to deliver high standards of holistic care to our patients and their families under the direction of registered nursing staff and will ideally have achieved the Care Certificate and be educated to NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent in a related field.
What we offer
Salary: WTE £24,570 ( £22,932 (35 hrs) £13,104 (20hrs) / Working Hours: Hours are worked on a 7 day rota inclusive of, nights, weekends and Bank Holidays. Aside from the terms and conditions detailed above, you will joining a very special and unique organisation, where people are at the heart of everything we do.
