East Lancashire Hospice 10k Race 2027

Join us for one of the very first races of the new year and make your miles matter. Proudly hosted by The Vella Group, this annual event raises vital funds for East Lancashire Hospice, supporting compassionate care for patients and families across our community.

Over the years, this much-loved event has raised over £135,000 thanks to the incredible dedication of local runners, families and supporters. 

🕒 Event Schedule

• 10k Race Start: 11:00am
• 2k Fun Run Start: 11:10am
• Registration: Opens 9:30am – Closes 10:45am

Registration will take place at the event site in Great Harwood. Please arrive early to allow plenty of time to collect your race number and warm up.

Whether you’re a seasoned runner chasing a personal best or lacing up your trainers for the first time, this event is all about community spirit. Join hundreds of others running to support hospice care—every step helps make a difference.

Expect a supportive atmosphere, friendly marshals, food and beverages available before and after the race.

📏 Race Distances

10k Race

Perfect for runners looking to challenge themselves after the festive season. Participants must meet the age requirement (16+).

2k Fun Run

Great for families, younger runners, schools, and anyone looking for a fun and inclusive run (must be 6+, anyone under the age of 18 must run with an adult). 

✔️ Terms & Conditions

• Age Requirements:
  • 10k participants must be 16+
  • 2k participants must be 6+ - if under the age of 18, you must run with a paying adult. 
• Headphones: The use of headphones, earphones, or bone conduction devices is strictly prohibited due to sections of the route using roads and public footpaths. Anyone found wearing these during the race will be disqualified.
