Nurse’s marathon effort to help hospice
The rookie runner decided to go the extra mile and take on the gruelling challenge to help raise vital funds for the hospice, which has been massively affected by Covid-19. Nadia secured a place for this year’s London marathon through the ballot.
Nadia commented: “I got my place through the ballot, and decided I would like to raise money for East Lancashire Hospice.
I have worked for East Lancashire Hospice for 7 years as a staff nurse. I see daily the amazing support, care and compassion given to our patients and their families.
East Lancashire Hospice cares for people with life-limiting conditions, providing specialised care to help people make the most of life, until the end of life.”
Nadia has been pounding the pavements of Lancashire three times a week as part of her marathon training plan.
The committed nurse also celebrates her 30th birthday this year and said: “This year I turn 30 and what better way to mark it than to complete such an amazing challenge!”
The hospice has been providing care for people in Blackburn, Darwen, Hyndburn and the Ribble Valley for over 35 years. The care provided is tailored to each individual depending on what kind of support they require, with the vision to help each individual make the most of life.
