This post involves regular, direct unsupervised access to vulnerable adults and therefore is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974
East Lancs Hospice
East Lancashire Hospice is a registered charity, founded in 1984. We support and care for patients with a life limiting illness, their families and others close to them. We provide this in a number of ways; at the hospice and in people’s own homes across our community of Blackburn, Darwen, Hyndburn and the Ribble Valley.
With approximately 120 employees and over 250 volunteers, our people are our biggest asset whom we value tremendously. Our services to the local community would not be possible without our motivated and caring workforce who always strive to deliver excellence in all that they do. Quality & Governance Administrator
An exciting new role has been created to join and support the Quality and Governance team at East Lancashire Hospice. This is a part time role for 22.5hrs a week, and the role holder will be required to work flexibly. The suitable candidate will be providing a wide range of high quality administrative and support duties to the Head of Quality and Governance as well as supporting the Clinical Services Director as needed.
This role would be ideal for anyone who has knowledge and experience of governance within a healthcare setting. Ideally, we would like the successful candidate to have:
Essential
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a healthcare (governance) administration related role, and knowledge of the relevant legislative and regulatory responsibilities of the hospice.
- Experience of incident and risk management reporting systems i.e Vantage/Datix
- Experience in analysing clinical information and supporting the creation of written reports.
- Experience of working on your own or as a member of a team
Desirable:
- Experience in handling sensitive/confidential information
- Knowledge of risk management and patient safety training
- Professional standards and etiquette
- Ability to proofread documents
- Proficient IT skills- ability to use Microsoft Office software
Due to the nature of this governance role, capturing feedback from patients, their families, customers in Café Retreat, and key stakeholders is vital, and we would like the candidate to have excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.

What we offer:
The salary we offer for this position is £11,758 - £14,742 depending on experience for 22.5hrs per week. The hours are worked flexibly to meet the needs of the department over 5 days.
