VOLUNTEER ROLE DESCRIPTION

Accountable to:                Hospitality & Catering Lead

                                                 (They will be your main point of contact while

                                                Volunteering.  They will provide you with the support

                                                and supervision necessary for you to perform your role)                                                         

Role requirements:         Two Satisfactory references                                             

Role Summary

With supervision and direction of the catering department to undertake duties including taking payment for food purchased in our café.  Ensuring the dining area is clean and well equipped and our guests get great customer service.

When we need you to be available

The expected regular commitment for this role would be any of the following 3 hour shifts Monday – Friday 9.00-12.00, 11.00-15.00, 12.00-16.00

What we would like you to do

  • To provide a  friendly welcome and excellent  customer service to all using the  café at all times
  • To take payment for meals and beverages - training will be provided efficiently  
  • To help maintain the cleanliness of the café, clearing and wiping tables 
  • To ensure adequate stock of sauces, cutlery and napkins are available at all times for our guests
  • Support catering staff in serving beverages- training on the coffee machine will be provided 
  • To help serve food and beverages at catered events 
  • Follow our policies and procedures applicable to the role so you can keep yourselves and others safe
  • Work at all times to safeguard the rights of individuals promoting their wellbeing and protecting those at risk from harm, acting on any concerns related to safeguarding children and adults at risk in line with policy and local guidance
  • To complete our in house Blue Steam mandatory training modules - Accident and Incident Reporting / Adult Life Support Level 2 / COSHH / Cyber Security / Safeguarding Adults / Safeguarding Children / Preventing Radicalisation / Mental Capacity Act / Information Governance / Fire Safety / GDPR / Domestic Abuse / Equality & Diversity / Principles of Health & Safety
