A golden gift to the hospice
A generous golden wedding couple from Clayton-Le-Moors celebrated their marriage milestone by giving donations to charity.
The kind couple tied the knot 50 years ago. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary at The Peel Park Hotel in Accrington with friends and family but instead of presents, they asked for donations to East Lancashire Hospice, raising hundreds in the process.
Mr and Mrs Corris explained: “We wanted to do something for our local hospice because hospices are so important and they need all the help they can get. We’d like to thank all our family and friends who donated so generously.”
Over £500 was raised for East Lancashire Hospice as a result of everyone’s generosity on the night.
Lucinda Bury, Fundraising and Marketing Assistant at East Lancashire Hospice, said: ““We would like to congratulate Mr and Mrs Corris on their golden wedding anniversary and thank both them and their guests for their generosity.”
If you would like to add a personal touch to your wedding, engagement party, anniversary or any celebration, treat your guests to an East Lancashire Hospice pin badge and card to let them know you have made a donation to the hospice.
