East Lancashire Hospice

Corporate Challenge 2022

Are you a local business who wants to do something amazing for your local community this year?

East Lancashire Hospice is seeking companies within Blackburn, Darwen, Hyndburn and the Ribble Valley to take part in the Corporate Challenge.

The Corporate Challenge was first established by East Lancashire Hospice in 2017 and was last held in 2019, before the pandemic affected all fundraising efforts. In 2019, the challenge saw over fifteen companies take part who together generated an income of over £62,000 for patient care.

Thanks to this year’s sponsor, Blackburn based I.T Company, Nybble I.T Solutions, each participating company will be given £50 to start their fundraising efforts for East Lancashire Hospice and they will then have four months to turn this into as much as they can.

The challenge will run from May 2022 – August 2022 and all money raised from the companies taking part will enable East Lancashire Hospice to continue to provide outstanding care for local people and support patients and their families to make the most of life.

Fundraising suggestions include dress down days, bake sales, raffles, gala evenings or even taking part in the hospice event calendar. No fundraising initiative is too big or too small!

The Corporate Challenge has many benefits for participating companies including; publicity via business profiles on the hospice website, regular exposure across the many hospice special media platforms, networking opportunities with other companies taking part as well as team building.  Full support is also provided by the hospice fundraising team.

Interested? The hospice will be holding a networking open day on Monday 14th March in Café Retreat (based at East Lancs Hospice), for companies to come along, see the hospice and find out the benefits of taking part for both the charity, but also for their company. There will also be a breakfast launch held at the end of April for those companies registered to kick start their fundraising challenge which will officially begin in May 2022.

The hospice has already seen a great uptake for this year’s Corporate Challenge with companies such as, ElekTec (Darwen), Harrison Drury Solicitors (Clitheroe), The Mall (Blackburn), BT (Blackburn), Lock & Key Estate Agents (Darwen) and Pendle Doors (Darwen) among some of the first to sign up.

Ram Gupta, Managing Director of Nybble I.T Solutions said, “East Lancashire Hospice needs over £10,000 per day to keep its facilities running and provide the much needed end of life care to the community. After a two year gap, the Corporate Challenge is back and Nybble are honoured to be sponsoring.”

Ram continued to say, “Having participated in the Corporate Challenge in the past and experienced the wonderful team building purpose and engagement this brings to your organisation, we urge you to get involved and make this challenge one to remember. Join us with many other businesses to raise money for a great cause and empower your team towards a common purpose. The Hospice needs our help.  Raise money, raise spirits, raise aspirations, there’s no feeling like it.”

Leanne Green, Fundraising and Lottery Team Leader for East Lancashire Hospice, finished by saying, “The Corporate Challenge is such a special event in our calendar, it shows how local companies come together for a one reason – to support local people and the local community. I love being part of the challenge and seeing the benefits it brings for companies, it really does have such a good team spirit and knowing everyone is doing it to support East Lancashire Hospice makes it even more special. We cannot wait to bring it back this year, after having to postpone for two years and this year we want to make it bigger and better than ever!”
