Corporate Challenge Update
The Corporate Challenge held it’s halfway meeting on Monday 11th July in the East Lancashire Hospice gardens to see how the eighteen local businesses taking part were doing.
Each company has to raise as much money as possible during the four months from May to the end of August on behalf of East Lancashire Hospice and there is already healthy and supportive competition taking place amongst the businesses supporting the hospice.
Our motivational speaker for the event was David O’Byrne who gave considerable insight into his success and who remained to network with the other business owners who attended.
Ram Gupta from Nybble IT and sponsor of the Corporate Challenge, with Steve Almond, ambassador of the hospice, presented the leader board to those present. Whilst there is a clear leader at the moment with Pendle Doors at the top,, several other local businesses are already working to take over from them.
Gemma Lewis from Slimming World is keen to see her organisation at the top. Their fashion swap at the weekend raised enough money to secure their position on the board, and Northcote are also keen to see how the coming events they have organised make a difference to their position on the board.
So far, the Corporate Challenge has raised over £20,000 on behalf of the hospice, with a number or organisations ready to add even more to the funds they have already raised.
Leanne Green, Head of Fundraising is proud of the businesses and their success to date “They are all working so hard, with so many events planned for the next two months. It is wonderful to see the results of that hard work and to thank each of them in person.”
There will be an official awards evening for the Corporate Challengers on Friday 10th October to announce the winner of the leader board and to announce the total raised on behalf of East Lancashire Hospice.
