Oswaldtwistle businessman sponsors 500 bottles for charity

A kind-hearted businessman has generously sponsored 500 reusable bottles for East Lancashire Hospice.

The bottles will be handed out to all runners at the hospice’s annual 10K in the New Year.

Paul Slone, Managing Director of Universal Cooling Ltd in Oswaldtwistle, said: “At Universal Cooling, we are proud to sponsor the bottles. It’s a great idea by the hospice team to replace medals with a usable prize for everyone that completes the race. It’s a fantastic idea and the 10K race is for a fantastic cause.”

The 10K race saw over 600 people taking part in 2019. All of the money raised from the event goes towards patient care at the hospice.

East Lancashire Hospice holds a special place in Paul’s heart, as he commented: “The hospice cared for my mum, Joan Chadwick, in her final weeks in 2013. I was astonished by the warmth and care shown towards her in her time of need.

“I will always be indebted to East Lancashire Hospice for this and will carry on supporting the hospice for as long as I can.”

The 10K race is scheduled for the 19th January 2020. There is a 2K fun run on the day for children too.
