Silence is golden for charity

Chatterbox, Faizal Momoniat, raised £75 for East Lancashire Hospice through a sponsored silence at work!

The case handler at Primary Care Support England (PCSE) in Blackburn, spent an entire day silently carrying out his duties.

His colleagues said that it was a major challenge for him as he’s known to be a chatterbox. Faizal relied on emails and sticky notes to communicate with his workmates throughout his 7.5 hour shift.

Faizal said: "It started off as a bit of a joke within the team not to speak for the day so I decided to do it to raise money for East Lancashire Hospice. It's for such a good cause and you never know who might need the help of the hospice."

He donated an impressive £75 to East Lancashire Hospice, to help the hospice continue to care for local people with life-shortening illnesses.

PCSE has supported the hospice for a number of years and have completed numerous fundraising challenges, held raffles and volunteered at events.

Lynn Bradley, Faizal's manager, said: "I think he did amazing as he‘s a very talkative person!"
