Sunflower appeal launched!
The blooming lovely Brookside Primary School in Clitheroe are the first school to help launch this year's sunflower appeal.
Brookside Primary School helped launched the hospice’s annual sunflower appeal which this year has a celebration theme. Everyone is invited to make a sunflower donation and in return receive an all-weather sunflower plaque to plant in their own garden.
The Clitheroe school were given sunflower seeds to plant in the school garden which will be looked after by the pupils until they bloom over the Summer holidays. They will also write poems about sunflowers with a selection being chosen to be read out or displayed at the celebration event at the hospice in August.
Fundraiser Kimberley Hall said: “We’re thrilled that local schools like Brookside have got on board with the sunflower appeal this year. Involving people of all ages with planting seeds or dedicating a sunflower to someone special makes supporting the hospice simple and meaningful for everyone. We’re hoping for a wonderful celebration day in August when we open up the beautiful hospice gardens for an afternoon of music, refreshments and time to reflect on happy memories.
Make a sunflower dedication and find out more.
