They're bubbling over with excitement!

Local companies are bubbling over with excitement after they agreed to sponsor the inaugural East Lancashire Hospice Bubble Rush!

The Cardboard Box Company, Ultraframe Home Improvements, Ronset Digital Printers, Albert Harrisons & Co Ltd and Al Imdaad Foundation are kindly supporting the event which will be the first of its kind in East Lancashire! Held in the grounds of Pleckgate High School, Blackburn on Sunday 6th May, the family friendly fun-run with lots of bubbles promises to be a great day out!

The Cardboard Box Company based in Accrington will be sponsoring the blue Bubble Station - just one of the foamy stations awaiting runners and walkers on the day around the course! Owner Peter Street said “We have supported the hospice for many years and will continue to support them. Several colleagues and friends have passed away in the hospice over the years and we have been so impressed with the service and care that they provide.”

Our green Bubble station is sponsored by Clitheroe based Ultraframe Home Improvements who will be entering a team to take on the bubbles on the day! Nikki Duckworth, Ultraframe Home Improvements Retail Marketing Manager said, “We have supported East Lancashire Hospice with various initiatives over the years, and as the hospice and Ultraframe share a birthday (both organisations were launched in the same year -1983) we look forward to developing our relationship through the sponsorship of a number of community events, starting with the exciting Bubble Rush in May.”

The Bubble Rush t-shirts are co-sponsored by Ronset Digital Printers and Albert Harrisons & Co Ltd. Who are both looking forward to getting involved in the biggest and best foam-filled fun run around!

Chris Durham, Ronset’s Commercial Director said, “Ronset has been a long term supporter of East Lancashire Hospice - the work they do is fantastic. We are happy to be a sponsor of the Bubble Rush event as this is a vital way to raise much deserved and worthwhile funds.”

Paul Sanderson, Albert Harrisons & Co Ltd. Managing Director said, “As a local, family-owned company, at Harrisons we know and understand how incredibly important the hospice is to the people of East Lancashire and we’re delighted to co-sponsor this year’s Bubble Rush event.  By sponsoring, taking part and fundraising it helps the hospice continue to provide this much needed facility whilst having fun at the same time!”

When crossing the finish line each participant will receive a well-deserved medal, sponsored by Al Imdaad Foundation UK. The Blackburn based organisation provide humanitarian services with the highest level of compassion, professionalism and care. Abdussamad Mulla, Country Director of Al-Imdaad Foundation states, “It’s an absolute honour to support and work together with East Lancs Hospice. The Hospice is doing exceptional work that benefits our local community. From a charitable perspective, it is important that they are supported in realising their establishment objectives. We’re always encouraged and inspired to hear stories about the care work extended by East Lancashire Hospice. We at Al-Imdaad Foundation will continue to support the Hospice to achieve greater goals hand in hand.”

Registration closes on the foam filled fun run in just a few weeks, on 30th April. There are two ‘waves’ setting off on the day which may reach capacity, so sign up now on the same wave as your friends to avoid disappointment!

Entry into the run includes a t-shirt and medal. On the day there will be live entertainment, as well as access to the Charity Village which features colourful merchandise to get you set for the bubbles. There’ll also be refreshment outlets so plenty of food to tickle your taste-buds! Hosted by Paul & Ollie from 2BR it promises to be a great day!

Leanne Green, Events Fundraiser at the hospice, said: "We are extremely grateful for the continued support from all three companies – we couldn’t do it without you! We are all really excited for the very first Bubble Rush!”

The money raised will help care for patients and their families from Blackburn, Darwen, Hyndburn and the Ribble Valley with life-limiting illnesses at a time when they need it the most.
