Hospice ball is a glittering success
East Lancashire Hospice’s Annual Ball, sponsored by The Cardboard Box Company Ltd, celebrated in style to mark the 35 year milestone of providing care in Blackburn, Darwen, Hyndburn and the Ribble Valley, and raised an incredible £33,216.
250 guests were greeted at the Dunkenhalgh Hotel, Clayton Le Moors, with a glass of fizz on arrival.
Throughout the night guests were entertained by singer Paul Dobie and the one and only Diane Shaw Band Soul and Motown Band had the guests hitting the dancefloor ‘til late. Those that attended the event all had the opportunity to place their bids in a silent auction throughout the evening as well as a live auction and a special raffle.
Auction prizes on offer ranged from a Northcote getaway, a Usain Bolt signed trainer, a unique VIP wine tasting experience, a Daniel Thwaites break, a dining package, a hand signed boxing glove by Sugar Ray Leonard, a 9ct white gold diamond pendant, a Raymond Weil watch, a four ball voucher for NINE golf clubs and much, much more.
The grand total of money raised from the 35th anniversary ball was revealed at midnight.
Sharon Crymble, Income Generation and Marketing Lead at the Hospice, said: “I would like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to everyone who supported this year’s event by either sponsoring the event, buying a ticket to attend or providing a prize to help us achieve this record breaking amount. Every single pound raised will go towards helping us to provide care to our patients and also their families at a time when they need it.
“I would also like to say a special thank you to our volunteers who helped on the night and to Margaret Evans and also Elaine Pugh from Beaverbrooks who gave so much of their time to help to organise, source prizes, sell tickets and so much more. Their involvement added greatly to the success of the evening.”
