Snooker championship pots cash for charity
Over 96 snooker players took part in the Organic Insurance East Lancashire Snooker Championship to raise funds for East Lancashire Hospice.
Jonny Hannan, 25, from Accrington and Jonny Clark, 38, from Oswaldtwistle organised the snooker event at the Hoddlesden Conservative Club in Darwen for the second year running and pocketed an amazing £127.
North West snooker champion Simon Blackwell attended the event and beat the Under 18s East Lancs champion Lewis Ullah 5-2 to become the 2019 Organic Insurance East Lancashire Snooker champion.
Chris Ridehalgh, the Company Director of Organic Insurance sponsored the event and kindly donated bottles of booze to raffle off on the night. In total, the raffle raised a fantastic £127 for the hospice.
Mr Clark said: “We chose to raise money for East Lancashire hospice as both my mum and Jonny’s grandma were cared for by the hospice and were really well looked after. We wanted to show our support to the hospice and will continue to do so with the snooker championship each year.”
