It Takes Two to support East Lancashire Hospice

Motown duo “It Takes Two” supported East Lancashire Hospice in style on Saturday evening at St Marks Conservative Club, Witton Blackburn. A fantastic turnout on the evening meant these incredible ladies managed to raise £300 on behalf of East Lancashire Hospice.

Although the duet do not normally charge, they made an exception on 8th October in order to support the hospice.They explained: "During the course of life, we all lose someone we love. We always hear of someone, but never think it will happen to you or your loved ones. We have been surrounded by friends and family with terminal illnesses and we have had to say goodbyes but be strong to help the ones left behind.

"We have lost family and friends, we didn’t really appreciate the work that the hospice put into place in making the end of life as comfortable as can be for the patients and their families, until we had to be that family.

"East Lancashire Hospice relies on all of us to keep the funding coming in so they can keep giving the best comfort possible. We know that times are hard for everyone at the moment." 

Because of that, they requested only a small charge on the door, so that they could raise something, whilst also raising awareness.

Thanks to the turnout, and with only a small amount of planning and preparation, the night was an incredible success. Community Fundraiser for East Lancashire Hospice Jackie Morris commented, "People were queuing out of the door, which is why next year they want to make it even bigger and better."

The Motown ladies themselves, AKA Courtney Rigby and Anita Ray presented the cheque to East Lancashire Hospice the following day.
