Newsagents make headlines with hospice donation
Newsagents in the North West have been making news of their own with a hospice donation worth £1,000.
Chairman of the North West National Federation of Retail Newsagents, Suleman Khonat chose the hospice as one of the charities to benefit from the annual dinner held in Manchester.
As a member of the Connect UK group, who chose to raise funds and awareness of East Lancashire Hospice, Suleman, along with the other group members wanted to help the hospice after seeing the services the hospice provides and the difference it makes to patients.
Fundraising Manager Sharon Crymble said, 'Suleman has been a supporter of the hospice for many years and he and Connect UK are doing a fantastic job of spreading the word about the hospice so that people know it is here if they need it, it makes a huge difference and it is free. He is breaking down the misconception that the hospice is here only for people with cancer and for the last days of life, we are here for those who are coping with an illness that cant be cured and for that we are very grateful as we need people from all communities to know we are here for them.'
Fundraising manager Sharon Crymble receives the cheque from NRFN members and president Suleman Khonat.
