Chris has a different view of life
Chris Knagg has a different view of East Lancashire Hospice – as the photography enthusiast regularly takes snaps of hospice events.
Chris, a Chartered safety practitioner, uses his camera to document accident investigation evidence for work – but said he loves capturing portraits of people.
The 54-year old said: “Instead of buying a motorbike at 50, I bought myself a decent camera. I went to Blackburn College and did a photography course, and then another, and now I am studying for my University of Arts London Level 3 in Digital Photography.”
Chris, who also helps with health and safety arrangements ahead of events such as the annual East Lancashire Hospice 10K, has also attended Photoshop courses at Blackburn College to further develop his digital skills.
He said: “I have always been interested in photography, but nothing serious until recently.”
Chris, from Rishton, has taken photographs for the hospice at the Christmas Fair, the Starlight Memories Walk - including poignant images of people taking part on the night – many of which were featured in the local paper, and an Afternoon Tea held in the Summer Marquee for the hospice volunteers.
All photographs Chris takes for the hospice are done free of charge and provided to the hospice for them to use on social media and for promoting future events.
Chris is a member of the fun-raisers group – a group of friends who raise money for the hospice while doing things they enjoy.
The group includes Chris, wife Anita and daughter Sara Knagg, Heather, Jim and Kate Wilson, and Sue and Alan Poyner.
