Compleat Support for East Lancashire Hospice
You
may remember The Compleat Food Group raised an incredible £1700 during the Clitheroe Food Festival earlier this year on behalf of Carole Ellis from
Langho who was receiving support and care from East Lancashire Hospice whilst
at home.
Laura
Chadwick, Human Resources manager for The Compleat Food Group said at the time:
“My grandmother was ill during the festival and was receiving care from Hospice
At Home - the service offered by East Lancashire Hospice which allows patients
to remain at home rather than in a hospital environment. We were grateful that
my Grandma could stay at home - we live just a few doors from her and the
hospice supporting her care at home meant that we were all close by."
Since
then the family have continued to raise funds on behalf of the hospice in
memory of Carole Ellis and this week dropped by to donate a further cheque,
this time for an astounding £1680.
Carole's
daughters, Sarah Brown and Rachael Chadwick, came in with Carole's husband
Michael Ellis to say thank you once again for the care and support Carole
received until she passed away on 5th August this year. They commented whilst
they were here on the care and compassion given by the East Lancashire Hospice
Clinical Nurse Specialist ,who came to their home to look after Carole.
Our
Community Service consists of hospice clinical nurse specialists, supportive
care (hospice at home) coordinators, health care assistants and volunteers. The
team visit you in your own home to complement the care and support that you
already receive from your GP, district nurses and other health and social care
services.
East
Lancashire Hospice at Home service allows patients to remain in the comfort of
their home and with their families rather than in a hospital or the hospice itself,
allowing residents
of the Ribble Valley, Hyndburn, Blackburn and Darwen to receive the same level
of support as they would receive in the hospice environment.
