Thanks to Intack Self Drive, East Lancashire Hospice are back on the road!

Back in 2013, East Lancashire Hospice were given the opportunity, by the community, to purchase a new van that would be used for our furniture collections and our fundraising events. In June 2022, we had to say goodbye to our only van, due to the cost of repairs.

After many miles on the clock and many amazing volunteers giving their time to drive the van, it was time for us to upgrade.

Blackburn based business, Intack Self Drive, one of our corporate supporters and friends of the hospice, were there on hand to help and support in looking for the perfect van for what we needed. Knowing they wanted to support in any way they possibly could to ensure the hospice was getting the most out of this deal, they delivered.

East Lancashire Hospice are now back on the road with two of our fantastic volunteers driving around our retail shops to support in the transfer of stock. The new van is giving the hospice the opportunity to get back out with appearances at community fundraising events and even giving Café Retreat the chance to deliver their outside catering service.

Russell Kerr, Business Development Manager at Intack Self Drive commented, “As a business, we always try and support the hospice in any way we can. When the hospice approached us, as their old van was becoming unreliable and no longer up to the job, we were more than happy to help and assist them with a new one.”

He continued, “They now have the reassurance that they can go about their day to day without having to worry about MOT’s, road tax, servicing and any maintenance requirements the van may need. We can’t wait to spot them out on the road.”

The new look hospice van has been supported by Clitheroe based company, Grafx in the design and wrapping, to ensure when we are out on the road, people know exactly who we are.

Leanne Green, Head of Fundraising and Marketing at East Lancashire Hospice said, “It’s so reassuring as a local hospice we are able to build partnerships with local businesses like Intack Self Drive. We pride ourselves on supporting local and being able to take out a van lease and grow our relationship with Intack, shows how amazing our community is and we are there to support them as much as they are us.”

Leanne finished by saying, “We would like to say a huge thank you to Russell and the team at Intack Self Drive for their support in finding us the perfect van and also to Grafx for branding the van in support of the hospice. Make sure to give our drivers a beep and a wave if you see them on the road.”
