Cream Cake Treat for Cafe Comp Winners
Competition winners enjoyed an afternoon treat at East Lancashire Hospice after winning an online contest to name the new bistro.
Anita Almond and Janet Eastwood both came up with the name ‘Café Retreat’ for the newly created café at the hospice Their prize included an indulgent afternoon tea hosted at the hospice’s new cafe, which they got to enjoy with their closest family.
The hospice held a competition on social media asking their supporters to suggest a name for the new eatery, which is part of a larger transformation taking place throughout the building.
Joining Anita and Janet were a number of East Lancashire Hospice volunteers, who won the afternoon tea at the Café Retreat in a raffle. Volunteer Yvonne Eden brought along her husband, Brian, and enjoyed the afternoon treat with fellow volunteer, Geoff McNulty.
Currently, East Lancashire Hospice is undergoing a major refurbishment which aims to create improve facilities and services for patients and those who use the hospice.
CEO of East Lancashire Hospice, Lyn Stevenson said: “It really is an exciting time at East Lancashire Hospice, it’s not just about making things “nicer” the focus of the improvements is that they will enhance our current facilities to support out patients and their families whilst supporting staff in doing their job more effectively.
Café Retreat, which is located at East Lancashire Hospice, is offering special Christmas afternoon tea gift vouchers for the public over the festive period.
