This post involves regular, direct unsupervised access to vulnerable adults and therefore is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974

East Lancs Hospice

East Lancashire Hospice is a registered charity, founded in 1984. We support and care for patients with a life limiting illness, their families and others close to them. We provide this in a number of ways; at the hospice and in people’s own homes across our community of Blackburn, Darwen, Hyndburn and the Ribble Valley.

With approximately 120 employees and over 250 volunteers, our people are our biggest asset whom we value tremendously. Our services to the local community would not be possible without our motivated and caring workforce who always strive to deliver excellence in all that they do. The Role

We are looking for a Retail Operations Manager to join our team and help drive performance across our growing portfolio of shops.

Reporting to the Head of Retail, you will play a central role in connecting East Lancashire Hospice with our Shop Managers, Shop Supports, and Volunteers. Your focus will be on ensuring our shops run smoothly day-to-day, supporting teams to deliver high standards in customer service, visual merchandising, and compliance. You will champion operational consistency, contribute to strategic growth plans, and foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and community engagement.

What we offer

This role is full time (37.5 hours worked on a rota basis of any 5 days of a 7 day week to meet service need inclusive of weekends and Bank Holidays.) and the salary is £30,705. While based at East Lancashire Hospice, this role will be mainly shop-based, involving frequent travel to locations across Blackburn, Darwen, Hyndburn, and the Ribble Valley.

The successful candidate will be fully supported by an experienced Head of Retail and Director of Income Generation and Marketing.
