East Lancs Hospice

East Lancashire Hospice is a registered charity, founded in 1984. We support and care for patients with a life limiting illness, their families and others close to them. We provide this in a number of ways; at the hospice and in people’s own homes across our community of Blackburn, Darwen, Hyndburn and the Ribble Valley.

With approximately 120 employees and over 250 volunteers, our people are our biggest asset whom we value tremendously. Hospice Specialist Nursing Team / Clinical Nurse Specialist Salary: £47,289

As we develop our hospice specialist nursing team to meet increasing need within our communities, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced, forward thinking, enthusiastic and motivated registered nurse with experience in specialist palliative and end of life care to join us and play a significant role in shaping our services as well as your own development. You will work as an accountable and autonomous practitioner alongside the multi-professional team managing a caseload of patients in the community.

The post holder will contribute to the development of the team working within the four pillars of advanced practice. The role will have clinical leadership and oversight of the caseload and will support the Clinical Head of Department to develop the service in line with commissioning intentions and the hospice business strategy.

The Successful Candidate

The successful candidate will already be working in the field of palliative care and will need to demonstrate drive and a ‘can do’ attitude to support the delivery of the service and service developments. Although not directly line managing the team, the post holder will have demonstrate strong clinical leadership capabilities to support the clinical work of the team, managing competing priorities and supporting the day to day running of the service. The post holder will support the development of relationships external to the hospice and support collaborative approaches to care across Blackburn with Darwen.
