Jim Wilson, a retired officer from Blackburn Borough and Lancashire Constabulary, has dedicated the last 11 years to supporting East Lancashire Hospice through his volunteer work and fundraising endeavours. His commitment and efforts have played a crucial role in shaping the hospice's success and impact in the community.
As a founding member of the FUNraisers group, Jim, along with friends and family, has organised numerous successful events, including fayres and 80's nights, to raise vital funds for the hospice. Additionally, his own initiatives such as his popular quiz night and his renowned Golf Day, which he initiated in 2015 with the support of Blackburn Golf Club have both been huge successes.
Jim's Golf Day has become a highlight on the local calendar, attracting enthusiastic participation from businesses and golf enthusiasts alike. Through his relentless efforts, Jim has raised over £24,000 for East Lancashire Hospice, significantly contributing to patient care in the community.
Jim's dedication to fundraising ensures that the hospice can continue providing vital care to individuals living with life-limiting illnesses in Blackburn, Darwen, Hyndburn, and the Ribble Valley. His contributions exemplify the spirit of community and compassion that defines East Lancashire Hospice.
