East Lancs Hospice

East Lancashire Hospice is a registered charity, founded in 1984. We support and care for patients with a life limiting illness, their families and others close to them. We provide this in a number of ways; at the hospice and in people’s own homes across our community of Blackburn, Darwen, Hyndburn and the Ribble Valley.

With approximately 120 employees and over 250 volunteers, our people are our biggest asset whom we value tremendously. Staff Nurse Inpatient Unit – full time /part time negotiable.

The Successful Candidate

Are you a registered nurse with a passion for palliative care, if this is you, we have an opportunity for you to join our team on the inpatient unit? Interested? Informal visits welcome and encouraged.

The successful candidate will work within a team delivering effective care and provide excellent standards of patient care within the Inpatient Unit. You we be responsible for the assessment planning and evaluation of effective programmes of care. Be responsible for delivery of care to individual patients within their team, ensuring compliance with legislation and best practice. Be responsible for evaluating the care delivered in accordance with care plans and making relevant changes as necessary.

For this role Nursing qualification is essential, palliative care experience is desirable but not essential as full training and support will be given to the right candidate.

What we offer

As Staff Nurse your salary is WTE £33,559, inclusive of enhancements from commencement in post. You will work on a roster basis, which will include weekends, Bank Holidays and rotation to nights. You can continue to pay into the NHS pension if you already do so and/or have made contributions in the last 12 months.
