New CEO for East Lancashire Hospice
Hilary Barrett has been recruited as the new Chief Executive Officer of East Lancashire Hospice. She takes over from Lyn Stevenson who retires this month.
Hilary has a background in sales, marketing and business development. Her career began in the private sector. However she started her own business over a decade ago determined to use her skills and experience in the charity/not for profit and hospice sectors.
She recently worked with Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice and latterly with Relate Cheshire and Merseyside.
Hilary is a trustee at St Gemma’s Hospice in Leeds where she experienced the benefits of hospice care when the Hospice cared for her father.
“Hospices provide such brilliant and necessary care. I saw and felt the impact of outstanding palliative and End of Life care on the whole family. I’ll do everything I can to make that care available to anyone who needs it.”
Hilary commented “It’s obvious that East Lancashire Hospice holds a special place in the community it serves and for the staff and volunteers who work here. Everything about the Hospice clearly shows that excellence in patient care is at the heart of what we do and I’m honoured to be able to continue and improve that even further with the help and support of our amazing team”.
Graham Parr, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, added, “We are pleased to welcome Hilary as our new Chief Executive. Hilary brings with her a wealth of experience and a firm commitment to the ongoing work of the East Lancashire Hospice in our community.
As a Board of Trustees we wish Lyn all the very best in her retirement and thank her for all she has done for East Lancashire Hospice. Lyn has provided many years of devoted service - always ensuring the highest possible standards of care has been available to patients and their families. We will continue to build on those foundations”.
